First Lady Reverend Peggy Maclin



Reverend Peggy D. Maclin is the second child of the late Irzeal and late Dorothy McDowell.

She is a native Washingtonian and received her primary education in the District of Columbia and Prince George’s County Schools.

She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Pre-Seminary/Biblical Theology from the Washington Bible College and completed her Master of Science degree in Clinical Professional Counseling at Loyola University.
Reverend Maclin was employed with the Federal Government for 26 years and upon retirement was a Financial Specialist at the Environmental Protection Agency. She presently serves as the Minister of Membership Retention where she plays a vital role in keeping up with the membership at The Sanctuary At Kingdom Square. In addition, Reverend Maclin is the Human Resources Officer for The Sanctuary at Kingdom Square.

Reverend Maclin takes a very active part in many of the ministries at The Sanctuary. She currently serves as the Director of Women's Ministry and continues to serve as a representative of the Ministers' Spouses Ministry. She participates in the Christian Education Ministry as an instructor in the Bible Institute and she also works with the Domestic Violence Ministry.
Reverend Maclin served on the Prince George's County Commission for Women in 2015 to advise the County Executive, County Council, and the citizens of Prince George's County on matters that influence the well-being of women throughout Prince George’s County. She served as a liaison for the Interfaith Community on issues related to domestic violence and behavioral health matters in Prince George’s County.

On July 20, 2003, Reverend Maclin was licensed to preach the gospel by
Pastor Maclin. She was ordained as a Minister of the gospel on September 25, 2015.

She is the wife of Pastor Anthony G. Maclin of The Sanctuary at Kingdom Square (formerly Glendale Baptist Church) in Upper Marlboro, MD, and the mother of Krystle, a graduate of Hampton University, and Brandon, a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.
